The Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State wishes to announced an internal and external advertisement for suitably qualified candidates to apply for academic and non-teaching job vacancies. These appointments will be made through the Federal Character Commission (FCC) in line with existing federal guidelines.
The Polytechnic invites applications from qualified Nigerians who possess the required academic qualifications, professional experience, and relevant skills for the advertised positions.

Academic Staff Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates applying for teaching positions must meet the academic, professional, experience, publication, and leadership requirements specified for each cadre. Senior positions also require evidence of administrative leadership, research output, and community service.
1) Chief Lecturer (CONPCASS 9)
Applicants must possess:
- A PhD with at least 15 years of cognate experience.
- A Master’s degree with at least 18 years of cognate experience.
- At least three years as Principal Lecturer.
- Four journal publications
- Five book chapters or two standard textbooks since last promotionm
- Five conference or seminar papers
- Evidence of academic and administrative leadership.
- Evidence of community service
- Membership of relevant professional bodies
2) Principal Lecturer (CONPCASS 8)
Applicants must possess:
- A PhD with at least 12 years of cognate experience, or A Master’s degree with at least 15 years of cognate experience.
- Three years as Senior Lecturer
- Four additional journal publications.
- Book chapter contributions
- Ability to initiate and supervise research.
- Evidence of leadership and community service.
3) Senior Lecturer (CONPCASS 7)
Applicants must possess:
- A PhD with at least six years of experience, or A Master’s degree with at least eight years of experience.
- Three years as Lecturer I
- One journal article or two book chapters.
- Three conference or seminar papers
- Evidence of leadership and community engagement.
4) Lecturer I (CONPCASS 6)
Applicants may qualify with:
- A PhD plus three years’ experience, or A Master’s degree with five years’ experience, or A good first degree with seven years’ experience.
- Three years as Lecturer II
- Five conference papers
- Two journal articles or one book chapter.
5) Lecturer II (CONPCASS 5)
Applicants must possess:
- A PhD, or A Master’s degree with three years’ experience, or A good first degree with six years’ experience.
6) Lecturer III (CONPCASS 3)
Applicants must possess:
- A Master’s degree with three years’ experience, or A good first degree with six years’ experience.
7) Assistant Lecturer (CONPCASS 2)
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Lower).
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Willingness to pursue postgraduate studies.
8) Technologist II and Instructor (CONPCASS 2)
- Applicants must possess relevant HND, FTC, or equivalent qualifications, NYSC certificate, and required professional memberships or experience.
Non-Teaching Staff Qualifications
Each non-teaching position has specific qualification and experience requirements, ranging from SSCE to Bachelor’s degree and professional certifications, depending on the role.
Conditions of Service
The conditions of service are in line with those applicable in Federal Polytechnics nationwide, as approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Government. All positions are pensionable and attract approved allowances.
