The ARISE Jigawa Digital Skills Empowerment Programme 2026 is a youth oriented initiative launched by the Jigawa State Government to equip young people with practical, job ready digital skills. The program reflects the current administration’s commitment to developing a digitally skilled workforce that is resilient and competitive in the rapidly evolving economy.

Under the leadership of Governor Umar A. Namadi, the state government continues to invest in human capital development as part of the wider Greater Jigawa Project. The ARISE Jigawa has been created not to train skills in classrooms but to orient on the employable skills based on current labour market needs.

What is ARISE Jigawa?

ARISE Jigawa, an acronym meaning Accelerating Readiness, Innovation & Skills for Employment, is a free two-day, skills-intense training programme aimed at youths living in Jigawa State. The initiative is undertaken by Jigawa State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (JISITDEA) as part of its mandate to foster digital inclusion, innovation, and economic growth.

For the 2026 batch, 1,500 youths will be chosen from across the state to take part in this short yet impactful programme. The training is strategic and aimed to prepare participants for employment, self employment and digital economy realities.

Who can Apply?

The ARISE Jigawa Digital Skills Empowerment Programme beneficiaries are:

  • Jigawa State residents
  • Youth between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Individuals who want to increase their chances of employability, improve their digital literacyand gain confidence in the working environment.

It does not matter if you are a student, graduate, job seeker or prospective freelancer as ARISE Jigawa lays a firm foundation for you to move with the next step in your career journey.

Skills you will Learn

Participants in ARISE Jigawa will be practically trained in the following critical areas that employers and clients value most today:

1. CV Mastery

  • Learn how to make a professional and well-structured CV that markets your strengths, skills and experience to attract recruiters’ attention.

2. Preparing for the Interview Techniques

  • Common Interview Questions, and Tips To ensure that you do not feel nervous about the interview and become able to present yourself in the best way, learn the techniques of interviews, the common questions asked in interviews, and tips to improve your communication and performance during the job interview.

3. Digital Essentials

  • Develop basic competencies in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel and other workplace essentials. It also introduces the concept of freelancing, which can open up opportunities to earn income online.

4. Financial literacy

  • Understand practical money management skills, including budgeting, saving and personal financial planning, which are essential for long-term stability and independence.

These skills are carefully selected to address the bridge between education and employment to enable participants to transition effectively into employment.

Training Locations

To ensure wide access, across the state, delivery of the ARISE Jigawa programme will take place in a number of locations, and these include:

  • Dutse
  • Ringim
  • Hadejia
  • Gumel
  • Kazaure
  • Kafin Hausa

This decentralised program venue enables participants from different zones of Jigawa State to gain from the trainings without necessary travel barriers.
