About the Graduate Trainee Programme

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Graduate Trainee Programme is an intensive 18 month training programme meant to provide graduates with adequate industry knowledge, practical experience and exposure on large scale refinery operations. Trainees will be mentored by experienced professionals in the industry to ensure the growth and sustainability of the organisation.

During the programme, trainees will be exposed to various functional areas of refinery operations to inculcate in them technical competence, professional discipline and problem solving skills required in the oil and gas industry. In doing so, participants will be understanding the real-time operational process whilst working in a global business environment, meeting international standards.

The programme’s structure is aimed at building strong foundations for graduates for long-term career paths within the Dangote Group, especially in refining, petrochemicals, power, and support services.

Qualifications and Eligibility

The 2026 Graduate Trainee Programme is available to candidates of various academic backgrounds. Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals is recruiting for the positions of technical, technical support and support functions, and thus, the programmes are open to engineering, sciences, management and social graduates.

1) Technical:

Candidates with a First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in the following areas are eligible under the technical category:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Production Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Geological science L

  • Biochemistry

The focus of these roles is core refinery and petrochemical laboratory analysis and production related processes.

2. Technical Support:

First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation Engineering
  • Power Engineering

These disciplines cover refinery operations in equipment maintenance, power, automation and instrumentation aspects.

3. Support:

The programme also accepts graduates with a Degree or Diploma in:

  • Accounting & Finance
  • Social sciences
  • Humanities Business
  • Administration
  • Law
  • Information Technology S

upport roles are crucial for the refinery’s smooth running and include finance, administration, legal services, human resources and digital systems.

General Requirements

The following criteria are required for consideration into the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals 2026 Graduate Trainee Programme.

  • Minimum of Second Class Lower (Bachelor’s Degree) or HND Upper Credit.
  • Must not be 28 years of age and above by 31st May, 2026.
  • Strong interest in the oil and gas industry or petrochemical industry.
  • Must be willing to learn, adapt and work in a fast paced industrial environment.
